Russian literature

Russian literature is a rich heritage that has been formed over many centuries. It is known all over the world thanks to great writers whose works have become classics of world literature. Here are some examples::

1. Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin (1799-1837) — the great Russian poet, author of the novel in verse «Eugene Onegin», the poem «The Bronze Horseman», the fairy tale about Tsar Saltan and many other works. Pushkin is considered the founder of the modern Russian literary language.
2. Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov (1814-1841) — poet, novelist and playwright, author of the novel «Hero of our Time», the poem «Mtsyri» and many other works. Lermontov is known for his lyrical poems, as well as deep psychologism in his works.
3. Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy (usually referred to in English as Leo Tolstoy) (1828-1910) — one of the most famous Russian writers, author of the novels «War and Peace», «Anna Karenina», «Resurrection» and many others. Tolstoy is known for his profound philosophical reflections on life, death,and the meaning of existence.
4. Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky (1821-1881) — writer, author of the novels «Crime and Punishment», «The Brothers Karamazov», «The Idiot» and many others. Dostoevsky is known for his psychological novels, in which he explores the deepest human passions and vices.
5. Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860-1904) — writer and playwright, author of the short stories «Kashtanka», «Chameleon», «Horse’s Name» and many others, as well as the plays «The Cherry Orchard», «Three Sisters» and others. Chekhov is known for his subtle psychologism and ability to convey complex human relationships.

These are just a few examples of great Russian writers and their works. Russian literature is rich and diverse, and everyone will find something for themselves in it.
